Military Takeover
For Japan in the 1920's, the military had taken hold of Japan. This is due to the instability of the economy that the government had failed to turn around. As a means of survival, the government had started the second Sino-Japanese War and the Pacific War in World War II. This created the Japanese Empire. Both wars were seen as necessary evils in the eyes of the Japanese public; they were desperate to stop the depression and the suffering of the people. Emperor Hirohito was also against the military operations, but signed onto it anyways due to governmental pressures in trying to end both wars that had taken an even bigger toll on Japan. By 1945, the military had decided to end both the war in Asia and their part in World War II, with Hirohito's backing.
